READING ENRICHMENT / INTERVENTION
Designed for children aged 5 years old and up who have specific language difficulty, the Multisensory Approach makes use of techniques to stimulate parts of the brain used for reading and spelling. Included in the program are concepts needed to explicitly teach struggling readers how to master the alphabet, decode, and read fluently.
Here are some of the formal testing materials we use:
EKWALL-SHANKER READING INVENTORY
The Ekwall-Shanker Reading Inventory assesses the child’s abilities in decoding words in isolation, oral reading comprehension, and silent reading comprehension. This is done through a word list and graded passages.
TEST OF EARLY READING ABILITY
The Test of Early Reading Ability formally assesses the child’s abilities in the three domains that support literacy learning: alphabet knowledge, conventions of print, meaning.
TEST OF READING COMPREHENSION
The Test of Reading Comprehension 4 assesses the child’s ability to silently read and understand a text through subtests related to vocabulary, syntax, fluency, and comprehension.

She, and several other teachers in our center, can be your child's partner in Literacy. Any struggle in reading can be managed through a Literacy Program in iMGD.
